My little friend and I have had a wonderful day so far together. Currently she is napping, so I thought it was time for another post. We went on a nice long walk this morning…
We ate some “yummy” food…
We played with toys…
We hung out with the puppies… Ryan wouldn’t leave her side. She would just sit there and giggle at him. It was so cute!
And last but definitely not least, we baked some of Cody’s favorite chocolate chip cookies! I whipped out my handy dandy Kitchen Aid mixer and got to work.
The dough is my favorite part. Shhh don’t tell, but I had a few finger dips. 😉
I ended up with like a bazillion chocolate chip cookies on our counters. (This is just one of the counters full of cookies.)
As you can see, Cody pretty much has as big of a sweet tooth as I do (hard to believe, I know).
I think he will be a happy camper when he gets home from work.
On a quest to find the “perfect” chocolate chip recipe for Cody, I tried multiple recipes, and even did some experimenting on my own. I finally found this one from The Silver Palate Cookbook. (Amazing cookbook by the way.) It scored big in the Wiseman household.
Cody’s Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
(taken from The Silver Palate Cookbook)
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter and sugars. Add vanilla and eggs, and mix well. In separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to the rest of the mixture. Mix together well. Fold in chocolate chips. Place small spoonfulls of dough on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Enjoy!
