It’s Starting to Look A Lot Like Fall…

by Ashley on September 6, 2011

…in our house!!

So maybe the leaves outside aren’t quite changing colors yet, but the inside of our house is sure starting to show some fall colors!  Yesterday Cody and I were talking about the fact that Memorial Day seems to mark the beginning of summer, and Labor Day seems to mark the end of summer.  Thus, it is now the beginning of the fall season starting today!  I was quite excited to break out the few fall decorations I have.  I don’t have a ton at this point, but I’m sure it will build over time as I love decorating for the various seasons and holidays.

Before I got my decorating shoes on, I whipped up some lunch.  I had a smashed avocado mixed with plain Greek yogurt, garlic powder, salt, and pepper atop a whole wheat piece of toast.  I paired it with a side of cherry tomatoes.  It was the perfect little combo!  And those cherry tomatoes…holy delicious!  They were so sweet and flavorful.  Even better, they came from our friends’ garden, and we have a ton more!

Alright, here’s your fall decor sneak peak…

Kitchen hand towel.

Kitchen table centerpiece.  Yes, that candle is most definitely pumpkin scented!

A “wreath” (I don’t know what else to call it?) for our front door.  I still need to get a door hanger for it.  Isn’t it pretty though?  I love it.

There are, of course, various pumpkin smelling candles around our house.  I LOVE pumpkin anything… smell, taste, look.  I might just have to bake some pumpkin bread or muffins or cupcakes or something in honor of my little decorating rendezvous this afternoon.  Now the question is, how do I choose?!?!

Happy Fall my friends!!

Love your decorations. Yes I love to decorate for fall from the kitchen to the living room. Think I should get them out this weekend. Buy a couple of mums for your deck or porch. They are beautiful right now.

I bet it’d be a tasty/healthy add to guacamole too!

Yes, definitely! I’ve used plain Greek yogurt in place of mayo in guac several times, and it tastes great!

Great decorations, especially the large vase with the candle. I have been thinking about getting mine out this weekend. I always love having the fall colors around me. It’s so homey.
