Cody and I were playing with the pups yesterday, and all of a sudden we realized that we forgot Ryan’s birthday!
It was last Thursday on September 8th. We had even talked about it the week before and kept reminding Ryan that he was going to turn 5 soon! And then his birthday came and went, and we totally spaced it. We’re such bad parents!!
HAPPY BELATED 5th BIRTHDAY RYAN! DAD AND MOM LOVE YOU!

We normally get our dogs a big bone for their birthdays and/or Christmas, but I decided to make Ryan (and Molly) some birthday PUPcakes this time for something extra special.
Birthday PUPcakes
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup oatmeal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 (ripe) mashed banana
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
2 eggs
Frosting Ingredients:
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease mini cupcake pan with cooking spray. Put all dry ingredients in a bowl, mix together, and set aside. Put all wet ingredients in another bowl and mix together. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Place a small spoonful of the “dough” in the muffin pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool.
Mix together frosting and smooth a light layer of the frosting on each of the pupcakes. (Makes about 24 mini pupcakes)
Ryan and Molly seemed to love them the way they gobbled them up so quickly! They even asked me for seconds. I, of course, gave in and let them have one more. (Shh don’t tell Dad!)
