Jeans Weather

I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and advice on my thoughts about running a half marathon in my post yesterday!  You all are so supportive, and I appreciate it so much.

So I have some bad news.  I want to tell you now just to get it overwith.  I always prefer getting the bad news first so that at least I can end my thoughts on a positive note.  So my bad news is… the family consensus was that the Not-So-Ordinary-Chocolate-Cupcakes that I made last night for Cody’s “birthday bash” is a family secret.  Sorry, I know I totally led you on with that one.  I actually thought they wouldn’t mind, but apparently I was wrong.  You can ooo and ahhh all you want at this photo of them though. 😉  (I’m so mean!)  Seriously though, I’ll make it up to you by doing a giveaway…or something…this week.  Deal?  Deal!

Ok, onto what I was really wanting to talk about this afternoon (the GOOD news!)… I think it’s officially jeans weather friends!  (Sorry to those of my family members that live in Arizona for rubbing it in…)  The highs are in the low 70’s, and as the week goes on, it doesn’t look like it’ll get above 80 degrees!  Wahoo!  I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE jeans.  If I had to pick one piece of clothing that I love the most, it’d easily be jeans.  You can dress them up, dress them down, and they’re so comfy!  In other words, jeans are practical, and that’s my style.

I’m not one to spend a ton of money on clothes, or anything for that matter.  (Yes, I’m Dutch and frugal…call me “cheap” if you want, I don’t care. 😉 )  However, spending a little more money on a quality pair of jeans is worth it to me.  And by a little bit more money, I don’t mean spending $300 or more on a pair of jeans (that’s crazy if you ask me).  I’m saying I am okay with spending $80-$100 (at the very most) on a good fitting, cute, comfortable pair of jeans.  To some of you, that might seem like a lot of money, but let’s just make it clear that this rarely happens.  I have several pair of jeans that I love that I’ve had for several years, and they’re still gems to me.  Even though they cost more than your average pair of jeans you can find at Target or American Eagle, they’ve lasted me for years and I still love them.

I pretty much do all of my jeans shopping at Buckle.  I am in heaven when I shop there.  I wish I could just buy the entire store.

My two favorite brands would have to be BKE and Lucky.  There are a few other brands I don’t mind such as Silver or Miss Me, but I’ve found that overall, BKE and Lucky are my faves.  Why you ask?  Both brands’ styles tend to fit me well overall; they are more on the affordable side compared to some other designer jean brands; and I like their styles/fits the best.  Let’s just put it out there…I gotta booty and athletic thighs, so I need jeans that fit my body style.

I’m digging these jeans lately:

BKE Stella Stretch Jean

BKE Madison Skinny Stretch Jean

Lucky Brand Lil' Bloomfield Stretch Jean

These are the Lucky Brand Lil' Bloomfield jeans' them!

I think I am more drawn to darker washes because of their slimming affect, as well as being more versatile.  Darker washed jeans, in my opinion, are easier to dress up than lighter washed jeans too.
Anyway, I recognize this is more of a fashion related post, but jeans are all I’ve been thinking about these days… along with pumpkin, pumpkin, and more pumpkin!  I love Fall!  :)

Oh boy, I tend to like too many brands of jeans- generally the expensive ones that I can’t afford haha. But, I’ve found that the ones that really fit me the best are Lucky Brand Jeans! Sometimes I’m willing to spend a good chunk of change on a nice pair of designer jeans- but if I get those they typically tend to be a gift of some sort!
