My wedding series posts are back in full swing! This weekend was jam packed so I had little time to put much work into them. I continue to plan on trying to post one a day until they are all finished. Just in case you missed out on the “background” of my wedding series posts, I decided to do a wedding series in honor of our 1st wedding anniversary (which was yesterday). If you missed out on the first wedding series post, here it is:
Unfortunately I don’t have many photos from our rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. I was quite disappointed when I realized this! Oh well…
We did our rehearsal right before sunset since that was when our actual ceremony time started. It helped us get a good idea of where the sun would be at and that sort of thing. It was a beautiful, but warm, day in Arizona!
Here I am getting ready to practice walking down the aisle with Dad (lovely look on my face, I know ).
Meanwhile, Cody was hanging out with the two cutest boys in the whole world, our nephews aka our ringbearers.
After the rehearsal, we went over to Cody’s mom and stepdad’s house for the rehearsal dinner. They graciously opened up their home to everyone and did a wonderful job decorating and making it a special occasion. It was catered by some friends of their’s who did a fantastic job on the food. I’m having a hard time remembering, but I believe we had chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, and salad.
Cody’s Grandma Lou made an arrangement of various desserts that were wonderful! Not only did they taste amazing, but they were also decorated so cute!
We ended the evening with toasts. My dad and stepdad, and Cody’s dad and stepdad all gave really nice toasts for our marriage and our new life together.
I remember the evening ending and feeling so incredibly thankful for the supportive and loving families we both have. It was so nice to be able to spend time with our closest family members and friends that evening before the “big day” where we would be overwhelmed with the events of the day. The rehearsal dinner was truly a memorable evening for me!
- For those of you that are married, what was your rehearsal dinner like?
- For those of you that aren’t married, what would you envision your rehearsal dinner being like?
