I-Don’t-Feel-Like-Doing-Cardio-But-Feel-Like-I-Should-Do-Something Treadmill Workout

by Ashley on November 3, 2011

Quite the wordy title, eh?  ;)   As I mentioned in my earlier post, I woke up to my husband’s alarm clock going off at 4:30 a.m. this morning and wasn’t able to get back to sleep.  I do not do well on little sleep, mind you.  I need at least 7.5-8.5 hours of sleep to feel like “myself” the next day.  Needless to say, getting about 6 hours of sleep last night made me think that today was going to be a loooonnnngggg day.  Surprisingly I’m getting through the day okay so far.

There was one thing I was especially concerned about though – getting through my cardio workout today.  Already not having a ton of energy just to get through the day made me wonder how I would feel getting through an intense cardio sesh.  I promised myself I would do something though, no matter what.  My solution?  A “I-Don’t-Feel-Like-Doing-Cardio-But-Feel-Like-I-Should-Do-Something Treadmill Workout”!  A little self talk and planning goes a long way.  ;)

This workout is not one of your more challenging treadmill workouts, but it gets your heart rate pumpin’, endorphins workin’, and your sweat a flowin’.  It’s a great workout for one of those days that you don’t have much energy but know pumping out some exercise would be a positive choice for yourself  (*Ahem* – my day today!), hence the title of the workout.

If you haven’t done your workout yet today or keep coming up with excuses to not get it in, then hop on that treadmill now and pump out this workout.  You have no excuses now, and I promise you won’t regret it when you’re finished!  Remember all the reasons you exercise?!

I love easy treadmill workouts :) We can get so caught up in the hardcore running sometimes that we forget light cardio is working out too!

Intervals are always the way to go to get in a good workout. I love how quickly they go by, too.

I love interval treadmill workouts because they always leave me feeling so fantastic! The endorphins that kick in afterwards are usually enough motivation to get me to the gym, even on days when I don’t *think* I want to be there. I’m definitely going to give this a try!

I am going to try tonight . . . I am going to try tonight . . . I am going to try tonight! I have been unmotivated for the past few weeks to even go to the gym! Hoping this will motivate me to try something new and jumpstart my weekend.

I save one day a week for easy cardio! I think it’s restorative:)
