Happy Saturday everyone! I don’t know about you, but this weekend has been an awesome one so far. Last night Cody and I had a great evening together that consisted of homemade Thai yellow curry for dinner, frozen yogurt for dessert, and then the new “Twilight – Breaking Dawn” movie!
After last week’s trip to Arizona and a long week this week trying to get everything back in order at home and work, it was just what we needed - some quality time together, relaxing, and enjoying one another’s company. We crashed at 10:30 last night and woke up at 7:30 this morning! Talk about a great night’s sleep.
Today will be a fun-filled day filled with lots of festive Christmas activities! Cody plans to put Christmas lights on the outside of the house while I decorate the inside. Then tonight we plan to blast the Christmas tunes, sip some hot chocolate, and decorate the tree! I would’ve liked to get decorations up last weekend, but since we were still in Arizona, that was out of the question. Needless to say, I’m excited to get our house in the Christmas spirit!
Before we get going on our Christmas activities, I plan to hop on the good ol’ treadmill and blast out a cardio workout. If you look at my Daily Workout Log, you’ll notice a lot of my cardio workouts lately have involved the treadmill rather than hitting the pavement. (This is with the exception for the week we were in Arizona… I took full advantage of the beautiful weather there and did a couple runs outside.) I really do despise running outside in the freezing weather. Well, that’s what I tell myself at least. This is why one of my December goals is to force myself to run outside at least three times in the freezing cold. I’m hoping I’ll get over my fear of running in freezing weather and end up enjoying it. Ha, we’ll see about that one. ;)
Even if I do end up running outside a few times this month, I know there will still be plenty of treadmill runs. Ever since I got my treadmill, I’ve really been enjoying the various interval treadmill workouts I’ve been finding on some other healthy living blogs as well as making up a few of my own. If you’ve never tried out an interval workout on the treadmill, I highly recommend it! It makes time go by so much faster.
