This morning I’ve been having very little to no motivation to conquer my five mile run that is on my workout agenda. My mind has been going from trying to find any excuse not to do it, to telling myself I should but then trying to decide whether I should go outside or on the treadmill, and then repeating those thoughts… all of which are stalling the run, of course.
I decided I needed some extra motivation, so I naturally went to Pinterest for some help…
With that, I’m off to put on my workout clothes and tennis shoes, and go run my little heart out. Catch ya later!
Questions:
- Which of the above quotes/mantras do you like the most?
- What do you do when you’re feeling little to no motivation to work out?

I love getting inspiration for pinterest! have a great saturday!
I like the second quote best! I usually just try to remind myself how much better I will feel after I get a workout in. If I just spend my day/evening lazying around, I’ll probably feel guilty about it & it’s just not worth it!
Honestly, the fact that I’m signed up for a race is the only thing that motivates me haha. Since I know I have to run a half-marathon in a couple of months, I know that I HAVE to be training, if I want to actually run the whole thing on the day of the event! It’s also motivating to know that I’m running with a friend, and I really don’t want to slow her down on race day!
I did 5 miles on the treadmill this morning. So far, I’m really liking the new shoes/inserts!
yay! that’s great news about your shoes/inserts working out so well! you’ll do great with your half – i’m sure of it!
Good luck on your run! For my run yesterday, the mantra I kept saying was “limitations exist only if you let them!”
I LOVE Pinterest!!!! Great quotes–have FUN on your run. I’m holding you to that run…..
heh
oh you better believe i did it!
it was a GREAT one too!
I love the “you can feel sore or sorry” one! Hope you have a great 5 mile run
those are great! “Someone busier than you is running right now” always gets me up and out the door!
I like the last quote—being an early riser, determination is key when I wake up. Enjoy the run!
My motivation usually comes from knowing how defeated and guilty I feel if I don’t get a workout in. Usually once I’ve started my daily workout I never regret!
exactly! i never regret a workout!
Love looking through pinterest for fitness motivation! I also love picking up any health magazine (even a really old copy) and browsing through. They always get me in the mood to get up and move!
I love this! I always look through my pinterest fitness motivation and goals when I don’t want to move to do a workout! It always works!
Another one I’ve heard that I really like is… I don’t ever regret a workout, only the lack of one. Something along those lines! ha
