Cocoa Lovin’

Lately I have been loving cocoa powder!  I’ve been adding it to everything and anything I can think of.  What can I say?  I love me some chocolate!

It’s been going in my oatmeal in the mornings…

It’s been added to my coffee… (it makes it taste like coffee hot chocolate!)

I incorporated it into my Fudgy Chocolate Chip Protein Pizookie

I’ve been enjoying it in Stuft Mama’s 3 Ingredient Fudge

I’ve added it to some plain Chobani with a little stevia…

I just can’t get enough!  Fortunately, unsweetened cocoa powder is actually pretty good for you.  You can’t beat 10-15 calories and 2 grams of fiber per tablespoon while also satisfying your chocolate craving!

So if you’re anything like the chocoholic in me, do yourself a favor and get your hands on some cocoa powder!

Have a chocolatey kinda day! Winking smile

Questions:

  • Do you use cocoa powder often?  If so, how do you like to use it?
  • Have you ever tried cocoa powder in the above ways I mentioned?

I’m totally with you! Although I can’t put it in my breakfast. I have a rule that I can’t have sweets before noon and although it has no sugar (which is WHY I can eat it!) I have such a sweet tooth that it makes me crave other sweet things! Which is no good since I’m not supposed to eat sugar… Haha. My favorite right now though is in plain yogurt like you showed above! Try adding a T of PB2 to that… yea. It’s good.

i’ve actually done both! i find that when i add it to my already brewed coffee, the cocoa powder is a little more difficult to stir in, so i add the cocoa powder at the bottom of my mug, add a little milk, then pour in my coffee, and stir it up real good to help blend it better. adding it to the grounds works well too though!

I have not used it ever except baking. I just finished my oatmeal for the morning so maybe I will try that tomorrow it being Valentines Day. Reading one of the above made me think about a yogurt ( continental brand)I loved and not sure if it is made anymore, but could so make myself. Add the cocoa and some instant coffee granuales or cold strong coffee for an espresso yogurt! with banana’s :) It makes a great dessert.

i used cocoa powder last night actually! LOVE it. so rich and chocolatey without added sugars. I mix almond milk, 2 T cocoa powder, 1 packet stevia and a pinch of salt= amazingly rich hot chocolate. add some fat free whipped cream…amazing!
