My Personality

It’s Friday!  Wahoo!

I was reading one of my favorite blogs yesterday, and she answered several questions regarding her personality.  (She initially got this “questionnaire” from Aubrey.)  I thought it was a fun and interesting way to get to know the blogger “behind the scenes” a little better.  Of course some of you already know me in real life, but many of you don’t!  So let’s see if you really do know me. Winking smile

10 Questions About My Personality

1. When a cashier in the checkout line at the grocery store is being a grump for no reason, how do you typically react?

Honestly, this totally depends on my own mood.  If I’m in a good mood, I’m more likely to be understanding and recognize that we all have our bad days sometimes.  I’ll usually just try to be extra polite and wish them a good day.  If I’m in a bad mood, it’s a whole different story!  Ha.  If it’s a bad-mood-kinda-day for me, I’m often pretty short with them and I don’t talk much (this is unlike me… I’m a talker!).  Then I will most likely call my husband to vent to him about how people in customer service positions should be more friendly to their customers.

2. Are you the type that likes going out with your girlfriends or staying in?

I’m mostly a homebody, especially since I’ve been married.  Even when I was single though, I never was one to go out to clubs and parties.  It just wasn’t my “scene” (as my husband calls it).  However, I do go crazy if it’s been too long since I’ve been able to hang out with friends, so I suppose I’m a little bit of both.  When I go out with friends, I’m perfectly content with a low key evening and getting back home to be in bed by 10:00 PM.  I know, I’m a grandma.  Don’t judge.

3. Do you sob and get emotional watching romance movies?

Not often.  I’m more likely to get emotional when I’m tired, but I don’t usually get more than a little teary eyed in movies.

4. What stresses you out the most?

Feeling overwhelmed and thinking about all of the “what if” scenarios (aka I’m a “worry wart”).  I’m totally a list person because I find that it helps me not feel quite so overwhelmed.  As for the “what if” worries and thoughts, I’m still working on that one.  My husband has helped me with this a lot, but I’m a work in progress.

5. What do you think people think of you?

Hmmm tough question!  I think generally people think I am cheerful, personable, and sweet.  People that really know me (like my family and close friends) know that I have a big goofy side and can be kind of weird.  However, that “goofy side” doesn’t usually come out until I feel pretty comfortable with you.

6. When you overindulge do you hit the gym to burn it all off, or just accept the indulgence and follow your same routine?

The first couple years of college, I was one that would go crazy at the gym if I overindulged.  I’ve definitely gotten better at that over the years.  Currently I’m truly just enjoying the indulgences and trusting that it’s good for me every once in awhile.

7. Are you easily annoyed?

Usually only if I’m hungry and/or tired.  My husband and family immediately know if I’m hungry because I don’t talk much and get a little crabby.  People that are arrogant also annoy the crap out of me.  I would say that’s one of my biggest pet peeves.

8. What do you think is your biggest personality flaw?

Being irrational.  There’s so many times when I don’t think things through before I start worrying or I say something I shouldn’t.  Fortunately I have an incredibly patient husband. Smile

9. What is one thing you don’t think people see enough of when it comes to your personality?

I think people that don’t know me very well don’t realize that I truly do have a big goofy side.  I am friendly with people I don’t know very well, but I think I can come off as serious sometimes.  As soon as I feel comfortable with you, the goofy side will definitely come out.  Just ask my husband – I think he calls me a weirdo at least a few times a day.  Supposedly that’s one of the reasons he loves me so much?  Or so he says… Winking smile

10. Can you feel relaxed in a busy crowd or messy room?

Definitely not – they both stress me out.  I try to go to the grocery store at the least busiest time so that I don’t have to deal with crowds, and I hate the mall on the weekends.  I don’t do well with messy rooms either.  We have one room in our house that we call our “office”, but really it’s just a room with a desk, book shelf, and a bunch of other random crap.  That room stresses me out.  When it comes to the kitchen and living room, I want them neat since that’s where I spend most of my time.  Dirty dishes in the sink and clutter on the kitchen table drive me nutzo.  AKA Type A all the way!

Questions:

  • Now it’s your turn!  Answer one (or more!) of the above questions.  I want to get to know you too!
  • What are your plans for this weekend?

We’re pretty similar on a lot of those questions. I especially agree about what stresses me out. I feel like my mom (and grandmother) are the type of people who always assume the worst or consider the “worst case” scenario. And that has definitely rubbed off on me. I think it drives Brandon a little crazy haha. But I’m working on it, with the help of the Lord and prayer! ;)

absolutely! we’re all a work in progress. :) i always notice that i don’t worry quite as much when i’m in my Bible and in prayer more often.

I LOVE getting to know more about you. And seriously, I just want to met you even more :). I’m the same way about going out- I like it, but generally prefer a night in. What would be great is if people wanted to go out early and then we could be home early! But, that isn’t usually the case haha

PRetty sure we’re almost the same!! ;) I totally am a stay-at-home or go see a move/restaurant with the hus now. I’ll only ‘get crazy’ or go out if it’s a place that I really want to go to–or includes lots of dancing. Hah.

We need to hang soon–I promise my life is almost more in order! :)

Love this, Ash! It’s funny to me because even when I overindulge, I don’t change much, just try to eat generally healthy and enjoy treats sometimes, too! :)

My biggest flaw is insecurity. I have a really hard time trusting people and it makes it hard for me to make friends.

I think about the “what if” too a lot. It doesn’t do me any good though..
Well unless it’s a what if that brings me in a good mood :P
Nice to get to know you a little more, i love these random Qs !

  6. says

This is fun! I get stressed out about the future. I’m like you with the ‘what ifs,’ and I always like to plan ahead. Thanks for being so honest!

  7. says

I’m definitely easily annoyed when I’m hungry or tired, too!! And I agree with you about the cash register person thing.. I’m usually pretty good about realizing taht I don’t know their whole life story, but if I’m in a bad mood, that never helps!

Loved this – I’m the exact opposite on the sad movie thing. I cry when it’s sad. I cry when it’s happy. I even cry when I’m watching the ESPN National Spelling Bee (those kids are so cute!) Have an excellent and relaxing weekend!

I love this! I hate to admit it, but I am really easily annoyed. I love people, don’t get me wrong, but are there those that you can only take in small doses??? I could be alone in this. :)

I am keeping me niece and nephew this weekend and I am so excited about it!! Anytime that I keep them is a good time. We have a birthday party to attend, dinner at mcdonalds, transformers, and my nieces fingernails. :)

I feel like I could have written most of these answers myself! I definitely am not someone you want to be around if I’m hungry..and I can’t count the number of times..per day..that my boyfriend has to remind me to snap out of the irrational worst case what-if scenarios! It definitely stresses me out a lot..although less now than it used to. Type A.. *sigh*
