Hi! Yes, I’m back again!
Last night we had a fun evening getting all dressed up to go to a holiday dinner party for Cody’s work. It was held at the Salt Lake Country Club, and it was just beautiful dressed up for Christmas with all the lights and decorations. Very rarely do Cody and I get to dress up to the point of Cody wearing a suit and tie and me wearing a dress and heels, so it was quite the special occasion for us! Let me tell you, finding something dressy to wear isn’t nearly as easy when you’re preggo! Regardless, it was fun to get all fancied up together and get out for a special evening.
Not only was it a good time, but the food was beyond amazing. We were served a gourmet buffet that consisted of three different courses – a salad buffet, a main course buffet, and a dessert buffet. I would’ve been happy with just the salad buffet as it was filled with various salads, fresh fruit, shrimp cocktail, crab legs, breads, and various cheeses and crackers. It didn’t stop there though. The main course buffet had cooked veggies, mashed potatoes, tilapia, salmon, crab cakes, scallops, and prime rib. The crab cakes and tilapia were out of this world. Then came the dessert table that was just all too overwhelming for my massive sweet tooth. They had pretty much every dessert I could think of… Haagen Dazs ice cream with various toppings, carrot cake, pecan pie, bread pudding, crème brulee, key lime pie, chocolate mousse cake, caramel cake, brownie bites, cookies, lemon bars, and the list goes on. Fortunately I was absolutely stuffed when the time came for dessert, so it made it a little easier for me to decide on a few of my favorites. I didn’t snap any photos of the food, but just trust me that it was as amazing as it sounds. I savored every bite!
Cody and I even managed to win this cute little elf? or is it a Santa? We couldn’t decide, but we decided to name him “Hermey” and he already has a happy little home on our front porch.
T’was a fun evening filled with great company, lots of laughs, and some incredible food!

Aww you two look great – I love your hair! And that buffet sounds fabulous. I would have been so overwhelmed at the dessert table though haha. How do you choose just a few things out all those choices?!
I don’t have the chance to get all dressed up very often either – but it’s always fun when I do!
We didn’t have any Christmas parties this year, but I have been wanting to get dressed up lately too. I can only imagine that it’s a little harder when preggo!

No big holiday work parties or anything this year for us, but just some small family gatherings. I think it’s fun to get dressed up sometimes, although I feel extremely awkward & uncomfortable usually. You looked cute in your dress!
