Woot woot for Friday!! Is anyone else with me?!
I thought it’d be fun to share with you all what my workouts are like each week a little more in detail. Obviously I’m pregnant at the moment (if you didn’t already know, now you do) so my workouts look quite a bit different than they would a year from now. We all go through various phases within our fitness regimen and workouts though, am I right? Your workouts will most likely look drastically different if you’re training for a marathon versus if you’re trying to focus on some healing with yoga and walking. Neither is better or worse than the other – it just so happens that your goals change through the ebbs and flows of life. I personally think that’s what makes exercise so fun and exciting – you can always mix it up!
Friday 01/25
Friday was a rest day for this gal. I typically substitute a full day on Fridays, so I get pretty worn out just from that. Being on my feet all day while carrying an extra twenty or so pounds, bending over to tie little shoes, and chasing around munchkins is a workout in itself when there’s a big basketball on your belly!
Saturday 01/26
I tried to get in a decent workout on Saturday since I felt pretty rested and had plenty of time. I needed to do some strength training so I chose to do Sara Haley’s Sweat Strong Up DVD. It gets me sweating and leaves my muscles feeling worked.

Sunday 01/27
Sundays are almost always rest days for me. I’m usually racing around church all morning and early afternoon, so by the time I get home all I want to do is relax.
Monday 01/28
Monday was my unplanned early morning workout. I hopped on the treadmill and did some walking intervals, rotating between 3.5 mph, 3.8 mph, and 4.0 mph while adding some incline here and there too. I was nice and sweaty by the end and was ready to start my day on the right foot!
Tuesday 01/29
I did an (older) aerobics DVD that I found stashed away in my workout DVD collection. It’s about 45 minutes of a couple cardio circuits and one strength circuit. It’s not a prenatal/pregnant workout DVD, but pretty much all of the moves are safe for pregnant women so I enjoy throwing it into the mix every once in awhile.
Wednesday 01/30
Wednesday’s workout was a steady paced walk on the treadmill at 4.0 mph for about 40 minutes while finishing up this week’s Bachelor episode. Side note: Is anyone else incredibly annoyed by this Tierra girl?
Thursday 01/31
Thursday was another walking day! Walking has been my go-to cardio since being pregnant. It’s amazing how much it can get your heart pumpin’ when you add in some incline, speed up your pace, and have a little extra weight on you. Initially I was planning to do a yoga video, but the sun came out later in the day and I had to take advantage of it since it’s been pretty rare these days. Both the pups and mama were happy campers and took a beautiful 30 minute speed walk through the neighborhood.
That brings us to today which I’ll plan on recapping along with the upcoming week’s workouts next Friday!
I hope you’re able to get your fitness on this weekend! Have a great Friday!

I’m a big fan of walking lately too – and using inclines actually makes it pretty tough! My favourite workout was my elliptical workout yesterday though because Dawson’s Creek was on tv haha!
Ha! Sounds like me. Love Dawsons Creek
A good TV show always helps!
Sounds like a good week in the fitness world! I’ve been enjoying walking intervals lately too – my favorite one was last weekend because I worked up a really good sweat. I <3'ed it!
I finally watched the Bachelor last night and I second your thoughts on Tierra.
Thanks for sharing your workouts. I went to gym class this week called Maxx F..it is a very intense muscle training without weights or other things, just with your own body. OMG..it was really good and I was sore the next day but I will do it again next week. I think it will be very effective!
Sounds like a good one! It’s crazy what you can do with just your own body weight, eh?!
nice week of workouts, lady!! my fav workouts from this week would have to be bikram yoga last weekend. i plan on going this weekend, too! i love it!
That’s awesome! I’d love to try out Bikram some time!
I love intervals on the treadmill. I tend to workout Mon.-Fri. and usually take 2 rest days on the weekend. Sunday is a work day for me so I like to relax on Sat.
Awesome week of workouts! Have a great weekend Ashley!
Incline walking can get my heart racing as much as running sometimes!
I think my best workout was the heavy leg workout I did yesterday…I found my one-rep deadlift max and it was higher than I was expecting!
Awesome! Leg workouts always kick my booty!
You’ve truly InSpIrEd me to stick with the workout wagon when I get pregnant too! And I’ve been doing alot of Turbofire DVD’s and James Wilson’s program
Love them both <3 Turbofire might be something you'd like after you have Baby Hunter if you haven't tried it already!
Good to know! I’ve heard of it, so I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!
My favorite workout this week was swimming laps at the pool yesterday! I haven’t been swimming in a long time and forgot what a cardio workout it can be.
I had a great workout today. It was short, but sometimes that’s all you need. I even did 5 chin-ups (well… 3, then a break, then 2, but it still counts)! That’s a huge deal for me.
Way to go on the chin ups! Those things aren’t easy!
I 100% agree with you.. Exercise varies according to life!
I just touched on my current fitness goals in yesterday’s post. Basically I want to tone up, have more energy and feel more confident while continuing to stay healthy and focus on my future goals!
Sounds like some great goals! Love ‘em!
I love legs day, for some reason squats in partcipular! Legs day was yesterday. Sunday mornings we always go to thr gym, its a favorite workout day since there is no reason to rush back home veersus after work we are more rushed to come home and make supper etc… My current fitness goal get back to running 10km! 6 months off running hit me more than I thought.
I love how you’re keeping up your fitness. I would kill to do a workout today…so I need to find one that I’m willing to do asap, and hopefully it’s compatible with Nia’s schedule haha.
I feel like I really need to add more fitness back into my routine somehow, because it really is “me” time and I need more of it!!! Happy Friday!!
I got my butt kicked into gear at ZUMBA last night!
Oh, this is great! I love the idea of posting all your workouts for the week in just one post instead of throughout the week. It makes a lot more sense. Good idea!
Sounds like you are still very active for being pregnant. I love seeing pregnant ladies still active in fitness, keeping themselves and the baby healthy.
Happy Friday!
Great work! You and Hunter are getting in some great activity!
I really enjoyed Summer Sanders prenatal workout video. It used resistance bands mainly and was a great workout! I always felt great afterwards, but not over exerted.
I’ve recently gotten into hot yoga. It’s been such a nice change to my usual workouts and my body is loving me for it!
I still have yet to try hot yoga… I’d love to someday!
I’m hurt my foot yesterday so I’m replacing the 5 miler I had planned for today with some yoga and rest the rest of the weekend.
That sounds like a good plan. I’m sorry to hear about your foot! I hope it heals quickly!
I’ve been doing Jillian Michael’s Ripped in 30 this week – sure am feeling it too! I am so anxious for our weather to warm up (-10 right now) so I can go outside and walk/run.
The weather is beautiful here so I’m going to try to get a hike in for my weekend workout! Oh, sorry! I shouldn’t mention the weather….I know you’re not thrilled about the weather you’re experiencing right now!
Well it was 50 degrees here on Wednesday, but it just turned to crazy cold & snowy again so I’ll be on the treadmill this weekend. Hope to get a nice 45 minute run in definitely with some intervals! Watch some good tv and read a magazine while do so. I have a half marathon planned at the end of April so time to get into training mode!!! Happy Friday!
TV & reading always gets me through my treadmill workouts. I hope they go well for ya!
I need to get into more dvds, I have never really thought of doing apartment workouts
Spinning and ZWOW (Zuzana Light) Workouts…love them!
Tone It Up workouts feel like therapy at the end of a work day. I start it out easy then once I’m warmed up, I make sure to really work through the movements and get as much as I can out of each exercise. I’m loving it!
This is so fun to see what you’re up to
My workouts are pretty similar each week, but I love sharing that time with such awesome gym members!!
I’m kind of loving this 2x a day posting. I seriously don’t know how you keep up with it. You are one busy bee. Your posts just make me smile lately. Hunter has such a great mom!
Oh thanks Shannon! I appreciate it!
I’ve got a 10 mile run planned for tomorrow… yowsers.
You’ll do great! Best of luck!
My favorite workout was today actually. I did A LOT of squats and lunges. I was sweating up a storm. Love leg day!
I love leg days too. They always kick my butt!
Looks like you had a busy week! Love walking you beautiful dogs!
You are a beast. Posting twice a day, exercising, BEING PREGNANT…
haha seriously, the last one pretty much wore me out just typing it. Being pregnant is a job in itself.
Bahaha, oh I wouldn’t say that, but thanks. I was in bed at 9 PM last night if that tells you anything.
