Easy Chicken Alfredo Pizza

by Ashley on February 23, 2013

When Friday evening rolls around, the farthest thing from my mind is cooking up a big elaborate dinner after a long week. Is anyone else with me on this?!

As tempting as it is to get takeout or go out to eat (which we do end up doing every once in a great while), we try to keep things cheaper and make an easy meal at home. A majority of the time, our Friday evening dinner ends up being homemade pizza. We love pizza in our house, plus it’s easy, (can be) relatively healthy, and cheap. Homemade pizza may sound a little intimidating to some of you, but don’t let it! It truly can be one of the easiest meals to prepare!

A few ways to make it less time consuming and simple:

  • use premade pizza dough
  • use already shredded cheese
  • buy already chopped veggies or chop them ahead of time
  • keep toppings to a minimum

Having everything prepped to go ahead of time makes it super easy to roll out the dough, throw all the toppings on, stick it in the oven, and ta-da! Your pizza is ready to eat in no time!

We like to switch it up a bit, so we’ll vary our toppings and sauces depending on what we’re feeling. Our regular favorites are veggie & chicken sausage; pepperoni, black olives, & mushrooms; barbecue chicken; and last but not least, chicken alfredo.

Last night we went for the chicken alfredo, and it was so delicious I just have to share! We decided to try out a new pizza dough from Whole Foods, and it was a WINNER. Whole Foods Multigrain Pizza Dough – definitely try it out! It’s prepared for you, uses minimal all natural ingredients, and is only a buck ninety nine. Can’t beat that!

Easy Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Servings: 1 large pizza (about 8 slices)

Prep Time: 15-20 minutes

Cook Time: 20-25 minutes (depending on your oven & how you like your crust)

Ingredients:

  • 1 boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Whole Foods Multigrain Pizza Dough
  • 3/4 cup Classico Light Alfredo Sauce
  • handful of fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 small jar of marinated artichoke hearts
  • 1-2 cups mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  • Place pizza stone in oven & preheat to 400* F.
  • Cook chicken in a skillet on the stove and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  • Carefully remove pizza stone from oven and roll out dough on stone.
  • Place back in oven and let dough cook for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and spread alfredo sauce evenly over dough.
  • Distribute the rest of the toppings (chicken, spinach, artichoke hearts, cheese) over the pizza.
  • Place back in oven and cook for 15-20 more minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
  • Remove pizza from oven, slice, and enjoy!

Hope you guys have a great Saturday!

I need to try that whole foods pizza dough! We usually get some from Trader Joes which is like $1.29 or something.

I love making pizza at home with ham and pineapple. Usually I never roll the dough out thin enough and end up with deep dish style. I love dough so that’s fine with me!

Fettuccine Alfredo used to be my go-to meal at any and every Italian restaurant. This sounds so appetizing! I think I’ll make it for my family over spring break :)

You’re a better person than me – I never cook on Fridays! John is always told to fend for himself and I typically pick up sushi :)

Oh man, this looks SO delicious. I love that you used a white sauce for the pizza. I don’t think I’ve ever made homemade pizza. I usually just use a tortilla or something;) Clearly not up to par with your good looking pizza.

This looks so good! I have only made homemade pizza once. Made the dough with yeast and made our own pasta sauce. IT was so time consuming but tasted great! Love the idea of using store bought dough! Love alfredo on pasta, I’ll be excited to try it on a pizza!

I love margarita pizza and the ones in Italy were sooo yummy, because they use all natural ingredients! I tend to not make homemade pizza as often as I’d like because my dough recipe takes so long. I’m going to try your suggestion of the Whole Foods multigrain pre-made dough. Thanks for the tip!

Have a great weekend!

Awesome flavours in this! And I love WF multi grain pizza dough too. I always use that kind when I’m visiting home because there’s a WF near my parents’ house, but unfortunately I don’t have one near me. My favourite kind of pizza is one topped with balsamic caramelized onions, prosciutto and some kind of cheese. That’s actually what I had when I went out for dinner last night. :D

I’m in love with cauliflower bases at the moment! I’m sitting here tucking to a portobello mushroom and caramalised onion pizza with olive tapenade and rocket…delicious! :)

Girl, you need to get yourself a pizza peel! So much handier than trying to roll dough out on a hot stone. We love pizza at our house too…so many different flavor combinations can be done!

Yum! That looks delicious! I love making homemade pizza. It’s my favorite Friday meal, especially during Lent ;) I love making buffalo chicken pizza on whole wheat crust! I use deli meat buffalo chicken, marinara sauce, a mix of reduced fat cheddar and mozzarella cheese, and I pile on broccoli, onions and garlic. delish! have a great weekend :)

I am totally with you. Friday night is the only night I NEVER cook. Ever. I’m already in relaxation mood. I cook and bake my ass off on Saturday and Sunday to make up for it though:-)

Homemade pizza is the BEST. It’s a great way to get rid of a bunch of veggies and you can make it just how you want it!

I hate to admit it… but I actually don’t like pizza. Whenever we had school celebrations there would always be a ‘Pizza Lunch’ which I hated because I just didn’t like pizza. Although I had an Italian friend and her Mum made us Potato Pizza, which was pretty incredible. I think I would like homemade pizzas, it’s just the greasy, brown box, dial-a-pizza I’m not a fan of!

I actually cooked last night!!! I had just gone to the grocery and there were ingredients begging to be cooked :) And, the hubs got home early from work, so Adeline had someone to keep her entertained! This recipe looks like a GREAT recipe to make for friends, I feel like chicken alfredo is something that everyone loves :)

I wish I liked homemade pizza more, but the crust is never good. I think I need a traditional wood oven!

That looks and sounds pretty good!! I never would have thought to put the artichoke hearts in it but sounds like a great combination! Homemade pizza blows all other pizza out of the water 95% of the time!!!
