What A Week

TGIF!

I don’t think I’ve been more happy to say THANK GOODNESS IT’S FRIDAY in a long time. I mean, let’s be real, Fridays are always pretty awesome, but this week was just a doozy.

20616105c31306701b9d69433b266a97[1]

General pregnancy fatigue + something going on every night this week + not sleeping well = one heck of a long week. Cody has been working some crazy hours, so I was waking up when he got home at night (super late) and/or when he got up in the morning (super early) and then I couldn’t seem to get back to sleep. Add that to waking up multiple times a night to pee, having trouble getting comfortable, and the excitement of baby Hunter coming, and there has been a few too many sleepless nights around here this week. Let it just be known that I’m not one of those people that does well with little sleep. Needless to say, having a newborn will definitely be interesting. Winking smile

All that being said, fitness wasn’t much of a priority around here this week, hence the lack of a Fitness Friday post today. I got in a few walks, but that’s about it. I started to beat myself up about it for about two seconds, and then I realized I was being ridiculous. I’m 35 weeks pregnant, my sleep has been crap, and there’s been a lot going on. I need to give myself a break and realize that these last few weeks may be a little more low key in the exercise department. I’ve a pretty darn good job at staying active throughout my pregnancy, and for that I am proud. My main focus from here on out is to take it day by day and go from there.

Anyway, I’m not trying to complain here, but just being real and letting it be known that I couldn’t be more thrilled it’s Friday. Anyone else?!

Cheers to the weekend!

Ya, I think you’re doing amazing for 35 weeks!! I do not function well on little sleep either and neither did my brain a few times this week!! I definitely had a few nights this week were I probably fell asleep right when my head it the pillow! And caffeine was my friend ;) .

And don’t mind the typos. This is what I get for blog reading on my phone in bed instead of just picking my laptop up off the floor beside me haha

Girl this week has been long for me too and I’m not even preggo! Haha I literally jumped out of bed today (kind of backwards for a Friday) but I was just so excited for the weekend to be near!!

AMEN for Friday!!! I’m sorry you haven’t been sleeping well. Apparently life is just getting you ready to function on no sleep. ;)

Yeah definitely don’t worry about one week where you didn’t go all out on the exercise front. Don’t let it stress you! I’m so glad it’s Friday, looking forward to a nice weekend of just chilling :) And Game of Thrones series 2….oh yes.

You are right to give yourself a break and listen to your body. This was the hardest time for me with both pregnancies – the lack of sleep and just being uncomfortable is difficult!! Hang in there :-)

I think sleep is definitely your main priority right now… You want to feel as well rested as possible to bring Hunter into this world :)

We are on holidays this week (and next still) so its been great to be out of our cold Alberta winter and in the Arizona sun. This weekend I get to meet up with a friend at Lake Havasu so I am excited for that!

Definitely don’t be beating yourself up over exercise lately – I’d probably have trouble getting the motivation even without the 35 weeks pregnant part!

TGIF is right! Hopefully this is the last sleepless week you’ll have before baby Hunter comes along, you need to rest up while you can!

I think you’re being really smart about exercise. Listen to your body – especially now in the last couple weeks. So exciting!! Happy Friday :D

I get up to pee at least once every night… I can’t even imagine how that will multiply when I’m pregnant. Ahh! Happy weekend!

I think you’re right about giving yourself a break, especially when you’ve been having a tough time getting sleep!
I have no classes on Friday so I’m pretty excited that it’s the weekend for me!

P.S. Just sent you an email!!

I am with you! I need my sleep. I’ve been sleeping really poorly because I have some sort of head cold/sinus infection going on. It’s hard to sleep when you can’t breathe properly.

I couldn’t be more happy it’s Friday.

My week went by so slow because I was stressed and anxious for this weekend! I am flying to Portland Oregon today (first time on a plane, and by myself, since I was 7! Ah so nervous! My next week will be great though!

You’re not the only one! I woke up yesterday thinking it was Friday and was so bummed when I realized it wasn’t. I’m really looking forward to relaxing this weekend and hopefully getting some time by the pool. We’ll see! Have a great weekend doll!

I 100% agree that this week felt FOREVER-long!

And, way to go on reigning in that guilt-talk in the exercise department. That does more bad than any lack of exercise can do.

Have a nice weekend, I hope you get to catch up on some rest and enjoy yourself!

My week was great because we got snow on Wednesday. Now I’m ready for spring!!! We’ve got nothing big planned for this weekend which is exactly the kind of weekend I want! :-)

Have a good one, Ashley! I hope you get some rest!

Hi Ashley! I just found your blog! It’s great and I can’t wait to read more! I have learned alot in the past 20 years about being healthy. When I was 17, although I was interested in being fit, I had NO CLUE how to do it. Exercise constantly and hardly eat, right? WRONG!!!! Fast forward almost 20 years and I finally got it! I feel better at 37 than I ever did in my younger years!
I also just started my very own blog! I do hope that you come to visit. It’s great to be able to share with and encourage others this way!

We’ve got a long weekend here in Australia so I’m most looking forward to the extra day off :) In addition I’ve planned a hike with my bf so looking forward to that too.

I think you definitely need to just focus on resting and making that a priority and just do the fitness stuff when you can.

I’m definitely thankful it’s the weekend, as well. And I have Monday off of work, so I get a long weekend! Hooray! :)

We’re going on a tour of the hospital this morning, so I’m looking forward to that. Other than that, I just need to do a lot of little things … including lots of washing clothes for our little one!

You’ve done an absolutely awesome job of being active while pregnant this whole time!! So yes, these last few weeks may be different, but you should be proud of all that you’ve done! Do whatever you need to to make these last few weeks as enjoyable as possible :)

You have been rocking it girl! I think you should definitely give yourself a break and take day by day now.

I know when I get further along , I already have planned that I will not be going 5 days a week with fitness, I will just take it day by day and see how I feel. I know it gets harder towards the end with pregnancy, I am not going to worry, just nest and get excited for the arrival of baby g!

Hope your weekend was fab! <3
