WIAW #76: A Whole Lotta Yum!

Let’s check out my eats from yesterday in honor of What I Ate Wednesday!

What I Ate Wednesday GOES GREEN

breakfast – 7:30 AM

I had my new favorite: Breakfast Cookie Dough Cereal! I used 1/3 cup oats, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder, a few drops of NuNaturals Vanilla Liquid Stevia, and a spoonful of peanut butter and mashed it all up. Then I poured about a cup of 1% milk over the cereal and topped it with half of a sliced banana. I am loving this breakfast because it’s delicious and keeps me full for hours!


lunch – 11:15 AM

Lunch was a little on the early side since I had a substituting job in the afternoon. It sure was a yummy little combo – half of an avocado with garlic salt and pepper smashed on a piece of wheat toast, a hard boiled egg, and baby carrots.


I also had a glass of orange juice somewhere in there to satisfy my current OJ craving. Winking smile The Tropicana Trop50 Orange Juice with pulp is my favorite!

afternoon snacks

My snacks were all sporadically eaten throughout the afternoon when I got little breaks. I had a mozzarella string cheese, a couple clementines, and a bag of The Simply Bar Protein Chips (unpictured).


dinner – 7:00 PM

Dinner was taco salad made with romaine lettuce, corn, tomatoes, ground turkey with Mexican spices, and black beans. I topped mine with some salsa, plain Greek yogurt, and a handful of tortilla chips. I haven’t made this simple meal in what seems like forever, and I forgot how much I love it!


A small handful of dark chocolate chips followed dinner. Gotta get my chocolate fix! Winking smile

evening snack – 9:00 PM

My bedtime snack was an old standby – a spoonful of peanut butter with a small glass of milk. Can’t beat it!

    You food looks so good. I have been eating string cheese too.
    Lately, my favorite snack has been baby carrots and hummus. Right now I am loving poached eggs over toast. I do like hard boiled eggs but I just can’t eat the yolk of it, for some reason.

    Yummy post! My go to breakfast is always an apple with sunflower seed butter and whatever brand of gluten free seed bread I have on hand with Smart Balance and Crofters organic grape jelly. I love it and it keeps me fueled for exercise and until lunch! :)

    Taco salads are the best! I love putting tortilla chips on mine too. I crush them up so I can get a bit of the crunchiness and saltiness in every bite. 😀

    One of my favourite meals lately is homemade minestrone soup with Irish soda bread!

      Yes! I was just telling my husband that as we were eating it the other day. Love the extra crunch and saltiness! :)

    Looks like a great day of eats! I still want to try that cookie dough for breakfast you have been raving about! :)

    My favorite type of eggs are those cooked over easy, I love a runny yolk, especially when paired with a thick slice of toast!
