As I mentioned, we went from four naps down to three naps with Hunter for the first time yesterday. It was kind of a big deal to this Type A mom. We’ve had Hunter’s schedule and routine pretty down pat for the past couple months, and to change it up all of a sudden throws me for a little bit of a loop. I knew it was time though. His naps were getting shorter and shorter, and pretty much everything I read said that four month old babies should be taking 3 naps per day. Aside from a little bit of fussiness here and there, it all went pretty well! As time goes on, I’m sure he’ll be used to staying awake in longer stretches and the fussiness will fade.
To be honest, my eats were nothing special yesterday – pretty much same ol’ same ol’. So I thought I’d walk you through our day, and throw my eats in there in honor of What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW).
7:00 AM – I wake up and realize Hunter isn’t awake yet. I go in and check on him, and he’s still fast asleep…unswaddled. Note to self – swaddle needs to go soon. I let him sleep while I start my coffee and get breakfast started.
7:30 AM – I hear Hunter babbling in his crib, so I go in to greet him. He is so happy! I change his diaper and get him dressed.
7:40 AM – Breakfast time for Hunter.
8:00 AM – Hunter plays on a blanket with some toys while I eat my breakfast and drink my coffee. Cookie Dough Cereal with blueberries and almond milk was on the menu – no surprise there.
8:30 AM – I join Hunter playing. We sing, talk, and practice grabbing onto toys.
9:15 AM – Hunter goes down for a nap. During this time I do my devotions, read some blogs, write my afternoon blog post, and get dressed and ready for the day. I also had a strawberry Greek yogurt with a spoonful of peanut butter for a snack.
11:15 AM – Hunter wakes up. I change his diaper, and I feed him.
11:45 AM – We head out on a walk with the stroller and pups. It’s a little challenging holding onto the dogs and pushing the stroller, but we make it work.
12:30 PM – I get home to find our neighbor’s chihuahua out, and it comes chasing our dogs. Hunter starts crying. The dogs start going ballistic. Awesome. I finally get our dogs in the house and went over to talk to our neighbor about what happened. We start talking about other stuff and chatted for awhile.
1:00 PM – Hunter is getting fussy, so I put him down for a nap.
1:10: PM – I make a smoothie for lunch. I add one frozen banana, a spoonful of peanut butter, half a scoop of peanut butter protein powder, a handful of spinach, and almond milk. It was peanut buttery and delicious!
1:30 PM – I decide I want something more so I have a few handfuls of trail mix.
1:35 PM – I clean the bathrooms, dust, wipe down the kitchen counters, clean the appliances, and fold laundry.
2:30 PM – Hunter wakes up. I change his diaper and feed him.
3:00 PM – We head out to Wal-Mart to pick up a prescription and some cleaning supplies.
3:45 PM – Hunter sits in his Bouncer while I vacuum.
4:00 PM – I play with Hunter on the ground. We did some tummy time and practiced rolling over. Somewhere in there I had a mug of Oatmeal Squares with milk.
4:30 PM – Hunter gets sleepy, so I put him down for a nap.
4:45 PM – I return some emails and blog comments.
5:30 PM – Cody gets home so I chat with him for a bit.
5:45 PM – Hunter wakes up. I change his diaper and feed him.
6:15 PM – I get dinner prepared while Cody hangs out with Hunter.
6:30 PM – We eat while Hunter plays on his play mat. We had Quinoa Black Bean & Corn Soft Tacos with avocado – SO good and SO easy. Loved this recipe!
6:45 PM – I talk to my mom on the phone while holding Hunter, and Cody finishes putting together the desk we got for our bedroom this past weekend.
7:10 PM – I feed Hunter to “top him off” before bed.
7:20 PM – I give Hunter a bath (<—usually Cody does this, but he was finishing up the desk).
7:35 PM – Cody takes over and does Hunter’s nightly routine with him – reads him a book, does prayers, and swaddles. I jump in the shower.
8:00 PM – I work on this blog post while Cody plays a PlayStation game.
8:20 PM – I make this delicious mug cake. Still loving it!
8:30 PM – We watch a couple episodes of Prison Break on Netflix.
10:00 PM – I pump and Cody gives Hunter a dream feed.
10:20 PM – Cody and I read for about fifteen minutes
10:35 PM – Lights out!
