I <3 Pancakes

I totally go in phases with my breakfasts. Up until a few weeks ago, my breakfast of choice for about seven months straight was this oatmeal. Now I’m finally moving on to a new favorite – pancakes! I still love my oatmeal, but pancakes have been making more of an appearance these days.

Enter: my breakfast from yesterday. Flapjacked Banana Hazelnut Pancakes topped with Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter (<—you can still enter my giveaway!), banana slices, and maple syrup. Yup, pretty much heaven on a plate right there.

Flapjacked prides itself in making high protein pancake mix made of whole grain ingredients and no artificial ANYTHING. They sent me a few samples to try, and to be totally honest, I am loving them. I was a little hesitant at first because let’s be real, most “protein pancakes” don’t taste like legit pancakes, you know? But these proved my thoughts wrong. They were light and fluffy just like your traditional pancake, but they’re packed with lots of protein and fiber. Now that’s my kinda pancake!

My returned love for pancakes came at the perfect timing because February is National Pancake Month!  Betchya didn’t know there was a “National Pancake Month”, eh? It’s all good, neither did I until Flapjacked brought it to my attention.

Enter to Win! For the month of February, FlapJacked is celebrating National Pancake Month by giving away FREE PANCAKES! You will simply share a photo of your favorite way to enjoy pancakes for the chance to win. 3 Prizes awarded weekly! Enter HERE!

Fun, right?! Don’t forget to enter!

Let’s move on to the rest of my eats from yesterday, shall we? It is What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) after all!

Peas and Crayons

After my Power Pump Class (or any strength training workout), I always try to eat a snack that is extra high in protein. Plain Greek yogurt with Designer Whey Vanilla Almond Protein Powder stirred in and topped with roasted almonds did the trick!

A few hours later my stomach was grumbling, so I went with my newest lunch obsession – a panini. Annette got me hooked on these, and I’ve been eating one almost every day for lunch this past week. In between two slices of whole grain bread, I loaded mine with turkey, cheddar cheese, goat cheese, Dijon mustard, and spinach. I placed it in the George Foreman grill and voila! – a melty and warm panini sandwich. Yum!

Shortly after lunch, we headed to meet up with a couple of my girlfriends from church at the good ol’ Mickey D’s. We chatted for an hour or two while I sipped on some unsweetened iced tea.

I put Hunter down for a nap when we got home and decided I needed some peanut butter. A couple spoonfuls did the trick to fuel my blog work for a couple hours. Winking smile

I made these tacos for dinner, and they were yummy and super easy! I recommend them for a quick weekday meal. Thanks Pinterest! I’ll spare you a photo – terrible lighting, not a “pretty” meal, etc.

My day just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t end it on some sort of sweet note. Chocolate chips to the rescue.

Go make your day a great one!

Do you like pancakes? Or do you prefer waffles or French toast? I go in phases with all of these because I love all three! Lately it’s been pancakes.

How do you typically top your pancakes? I’m all about a nut butter, fruit, & syrup!

What’s your “go to” lunch? This typically rotates among some kind of sandwich, a salad, or leftovers.

How often do you eat dessert? Every day, duh. Sometimes it’s just a handful of chocolate chips (see above) while other times it’s something more decadent. Just depends!

Oh my gosh, I’m totally in a pancake obsession now too! I’ve been making them for breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on the day. I just love them! I love topping mine with butter and maple syrup or PB and banana!

Any sort of sweet/carby breakfast makes me happy – so I’ll take pancakes, waffles or french toast every day ;-) I probably make pancakes the most often, but french toast is probably my favourite. And nut butter and syrup is always a delicious way to go!
I definitely need something sweet every day. Sometimes it’s ice cream, sometimes it’s a little bit of chocolate, and sometimes it’s a spoonful of Nutella ;-)

I love pancakes because my waffle iron is wacky. Although I would say that waffles and French toast are easier to make. My pancakes sometimes don’t turn out!

I loveeee pancakes. I made a batch on Sunday that were banana bread pancakes and they were so good. I keep thinking I should have added chocolate chips to them haha. I’m all about earth balance and maple syrup on my pancakes. I’m all about dessert. I definitely don’t eat it every night, but I’d certainly like to, we just don’t always have something in the house.

Gahh it’s so hard to choose between pancakes, waffles, and French toast. I definitely go in phases too, but I think waffles take first place (for now)! I top my pancakes and waffles with a dollop of Greek yogurt, nut/seed butter, and a little drizzle of maple syrup. The best!
Paninis and salads are definitely my go-to lunch items. Leftovers dumped onto a pile of spinach make for quick and easy meals too!
I have dessert every night too. Gotta satisfy the sweet tooth :) My favorite thing lately has been dried figs with Greek yogurt— so delicious!

Usually I’m a pancake girl unless the bread is unique for the french toast. Toppings… Nut Butters all the way & Poms! My go to lunch.. Sandwich with lots of avocado or Kale salad! However leftovers are pretty great too. How often do I eat dessert… yikes, too often haha.

I can’t do pancakes in the morning (too much work!), but I looooove them for dinner. I’ve been seeing way too many pancakes around the blog world today, and I’m thinking that’ll be what’s on the menu for tonight — topped with maple syrup and almond butter :D As for lunch, lately I’ve been all about the snack plates because they let me hit all my cravings in one go. I’m way to indecisive when it comes to my meals, so being able to have a little bit of everything is heaven.

I like to make a bigger batch of pancakes one morning when I have more time, and then stick the rest in the fridge for the rest of the week – works great! ;)

I’ve been loving green smoothies with protein powder and avocado for breakfast after my workouts – the protein sure does help! I do like making pancakes for my little 1 year old. I think it’s one of your recipes, too! (we use homemade applesauce and oat flour).. This morning it’s pumpkin custard oats from the slow cooker for her… yumm. :)
Big salads or stir fry’s usually for lunch!

I was really impressed with those FlapJacked pancakes. They were so good (I haven’t tried the banana hazelnut yet though!)

I pinned those tacos last week I think – glad to hear they’re yummy!! I think we’ll be having them next week.

And dessert? Umm, every day. At least once. Sometimes twice. ;)

I think I pinned the tacos from you! ;) They’re super easy and Cody was a huge fan. I was a little weary about the Banana Hazelnut ones because banana “flavored” stuff isn’t usually my favorite, but it may just be my favorite flavor out of the three!

I love the flapjacked pancakes too!

We ate hard tacos the other day & they were so dang good. I forgot how much I like hard tacos! hah.

YAY paninis!! I love melty cheese. mmmmmmm
Dessert happens usually 2x/day for me ;)

I LOVE hard tacos too!! I’ve already had two desserts today and it’s 3 PM, which means it’ll probably end up being a 3x/day dessert kinda day. ;) Whoops!

I’m the odd one, no, odd blogger out for not being a pancake fiend. Even though I’ve tried different recipes since starting to blog I can’t really warm up to them. In the end, I think I need one of the pancake artists of the blog world to meet up with me and prepare a batch to share :). Waffles still need to happen but we don’t own a waffle iron anymore and I somehow can’t decide to make the purchase for – possibly – just one try.

It has been WAY too long since I made pancakes!! I’m thinking this weekend there are gonna be some made :) I’m loving all your eats!
I think I’d say pancakes. But I love waffles and french toast nonetheless!
Lunch is always a turkey sandwich and an apple. Easy for school days!
    Dessert = every day :)

The last two weeks I was on a TOTAL waffle kick however this morning I made a gigantic protein pancake.. usually I stray away from pancakes because they require too much patience but this bad boy cooked up in less than 5 minutes – i feel a pancake kick coming on.

Your pancakes look so pretty! And delicious! I am actually not a big fan of either. If I had to choose one over the other I’d say pancakes because I can make them super thin. My husband and son however, LOVE pancakes and waffles! I think they would eat them everyday if they could!

I just used corn tortillas because that’s what I had on hand, but next time I will probably use hard tacos or flour tortillas. That’s just my personal preference though! :)

I do like pancakes! Of course, my favorite breakfast is custard oats, but second go to lately have been my yogurt pancakes. At dinner time Hunter was asking for pancakes so we’ll be having some tomorrow morning :). I like the sound of the extra protein in those you tried out!

I love pancakes too, but so wish I had a waffle press!!! And I recently started making some vegan french toast from my one cookbook. I want to make either pancakes or french toast this morning, but they both require almond milk and we’re completely out (cue the violins)!!
