Mamma Chia Giveaway!

Did anyone else have a chia pet growing up?

They were pretty much the “it thing” when I was in elementary school. Except if I remember correctly, I couldn’t keep one alive to save my life.

Well, chia has made a huge comeback! Except not in the form of pets … more like food. Winking smile

Chia seed has some really awesome health benefits. It’s one of the most nutrient dense foods in the world.

Chia seed has:

  • 8x more omega-3 than salmon
  • 25% more fiber than flax seed
  • 30% more antioxidants than blueberries
  • 6x more iron than kidney beans
  • 5x more folate than spinach
  • 2x more potassium than bananas
  • 70% more protein than soy beans
  • 6x more calcium than milk
  • 15x more magnesium than broccoli

Um yeah, I’d say you probably want to get your hands on this stuff.

Mamma Chia is an awesome company that has made it easier than ever to get chia seed in your diet. Their chia seed, along with all of their products, are organic and are made with high quality ingredients.

They were generous enough to send me some samples of their products to try out and share with you.

First up, these great little squeeze pouches. They are so convenient, yummy, and packed with nutrients. Not only do they pack a chia punch, but they include tons of vitamins and minerals in the form of fruit and vegetables.

They come in six flavors: mango coconut, wild raspberry, blackberry bliss, apple cinnamon, strawberry banana, and green magic. So far, I’ve tried mango coconut and blackberry bliss – both of which are winners in my book.

Hunter loves them too. In fact, he gets giddy and kicks his legs all crazy when I pull one out. I think he sucked this one down in about five seconds flat.

And then there’s the chia seed. It comes in two varieties – organic black chia and organic white chia. To be honest, I can’t really taste a difference between the two. I sprinkle them on everything and anything I can think of – cereal, smoothies, yogurt, toast, oatmeal, salad, you name it! Just ONE tablespoon packs in 2,430 mg of omega-3s, 4 grams of fiber, 3 grams of complete protein, and is only 60 calories.

Last but not least, there’s the Mamma Chia Organic Vitality Beverages. They are nutrient-rich drinks that include chia seeds infused with organic fruit juices making it a refreshing and yummy drink. I was a little unsure how I’d feel about the texture of these drinks, but I thought the chia seed was kind of a fun addition! Not to mention they’re packed with nutrition – they contain more than an entire day’s worth of omega-3, 25% of your daily fiber, 4 grams complete protein, 95 mg of calcium, powerful antioxidants, and valuable minerals. You can’t really beat that in a drink!

Along with all the yummy products, I was also sent Chia Vitality – a book by Janie Hoffman, founder and CEO of Mamma Chia.

I haven’t had a chance to read through the entire book yet, but everything I’ve read so far has been super interesting and I look forward to getting through it all.

“In Chia Vitality, Mamma Chia founder Janie Hoffman shows how integrating chia into your diet can boost your stamina, help you lose weight, and let you feel more alive than ever before.” –from the book

In her book, Janie Hoffman includes a flexible meal plan packed with wholesome and real foods along with delicious recipes, a yoga routine, and a meditation course.

And now for the best part of all, a GIVEAWAY to try out some Mamma Chia products for yourself!

One winner will receive everything showed in the image above:

My ‘go to’ is normally adding chia to either oatmeal or smoothies, but I totally need to use it in a more versatile way — like homemade jams more often!!

I think Nia would like those squeeze packs too, but like you, I don’t know how I feel about chia in a drink because of the texture. It was a little too much for me! haha
