My favorite magazine is Real Simple. I just started a subscription and I love it. I wish I would’ve known about the magazine a long time ago. It has so many great ideas for organizing, decorating, and cooking. I can’t wait to get my September issue in the mail.
Hi Ashley,
I recently found your blog and I enjoy reading all of your posts!
I was just wondering: do you ever have days off where you don’t exercise at all?
Hi Julissa – welcome! I absolutely take rest days. I believe rest days are just as important as the workouts themselves. If you look on my Daily Workout Log under my Fitness tab, you’ll notice that most weeks I have at least one rest day. Some weeks I have two rest days, or I have an “active rest day” where I do a lighter workout, do yoga, go on a walk, AND a regular rest day. It varies, but most weeks, I usually try to take at least one rest day or have an active rest day.
I just wanted to tell you how much I can relate to your blog. I also have HA but care a lot about my health, what I eat, and working out. I am currently training for a half marathon, and plan on slowing down A LOT afterwards. I want to say that I did it once in my life though. I plan on following up with your blog frequently and just wanted to thank you for being such an inspiration.
Hi Ashley! I am so glad I came across this blog! I have just been diagnosed with HA (which was only found thru infertility investigation, and like you, i was on BC and hiding from it for years) and will be going through fertility treatments in a few months (after my wedding, of course). I love knowing that there are folks out there, almost exactly like me. Into fitness, food, health, a healthy bodyweight, healthy recipes and pretty solid BMI – but then get diagnosed with HA. I have reduced my intense work, and now I have to dig even further and reduce even more. Mentally it can be (and is) difficult , but I’m glad to know what is possible and I’m very happy to read about your success!
Hi Ashley- my question for you is: once cycles are back after increasing calories and cutting back on exercise, does it still often take a while for ovulation to start back up? I have had 5 normal cycles (28-35 days). I am taking my BBT each morning and a few cycles have looked promising, but this current one (CD 18) hasn’t shown a rise. Did you have late ovulation with your cycles after they resumed? Is it normal for cycles to return first, and the ovulation to start up later? I am wondering if I am getting a true period. What would you recommend? Thank you!
Hi Meg! Good question. I honestly don’t know! I would assume you are ovulating if you are getting your period and aren’t on any other hormonal birth control, etc. I would call your doctor and ask! My ovulation days were never exactly the same…they varied!

Oh yes, Real Simple is a great one too!! If I could subscribe to all my favorites, I’m sure I’d have like ten magazines coming for me each month.
Hey Ashley! I found you on Kaths blog. You have a beautiful one here, too! I wanted to send you to mine as well. Let me know what you think!
Hi Stephanie – welcome!
Thanks, I’ll be sure to check it out!
